Starwberry, Kiwi, Banana

2009. Water colour and ink on paper. 11" x 15".

I am intrigued by Andy Warhol's unexpected placement of colour and this painting is directly inspired by one of his portraits of Mick Jagger. Two different types of paper were used: water colour paper and a sheet of drawing paper. The water colour paint used includes both tube and pan paints, as well as a black water colour pencil. The fine details were drawn on with a black Pilot 0.7 liquid ink pen. Three brushes were used, including a medium dagger striper, a small round, and liner for fine details.

  1. I love this one! Especially the black liner that you used for the fine details. It looks kind of off beat but that is what Warhol was all about.
