Feather Dress

2008. Synthetic feathers on chicken wire. 10" x 9" 14".

I sculpted three pieces of chicken wire into the form of a ball gown. Coloured feathers of various shapes and sizes were glued to the form of the dress creating the skirt and bodice. Also, two small pieces of velvet were attached to the straps of the dress.

Starwberry, Kiwi, Banana

2009. Water colour and ink on paper. 11" x 15".

I am intrigued by Andy Warhol's unexpected placement of colour and this painting is directly inspired by one of his portraits of Mick Jagger. Two different types of paper were used: water colour paper and a sheet of drawing paper. The water colour paint used includes both tube and pan paints, as well as a black water colour pencil. The fine details were drawn on with a black Pilot 0.7 liquid ink pen. Three brushes were used, including a medium dagger striper, a small round, and liner for fine details.

Driver's License Geometry

2009. Acrylic latex on plywood. 31" x 29".

This painting took approximately one week to complete. Most of the time was spent masking and waiting for paint coats to dry. I used two sizes of rollers for the white and black sections and for the green rectangle a round trim brush.
